The purpose of the Exhibitor Advisory Committee (EAC) is to foster communication between NFDA and its exhibitors, specifically to:
- Review/comment on current and proposed exhibit regulations and practices affecting exhibitors.
- Advise ways in which the NFDA Expo could be improved for exhibitors and attendees.
- Identify additional information useful to exhibitors.
- Provide a forum for exhibitor feedback.
The EAC is comprised of members from varied exhibit booth sizes. Members of the EAC may serve up to a four-year term, with a minimum of a two-year commitment. The committee meets once a year in the summer at the following year’s convention city. In the event that you cannot attend, an alternative representative from your company may attend in your place.
The site visit is a two-day commitment, usually held in August. Transportation to/from the site city and hotel accommodations are the responsibility of the EAC member. NFDA covers expenses related to the tour, meeting, meals, and other sundries.
Also, conference calls conducted throughout the year are an opportunity to discuss various topics and provide feedback to NFDA on important decisions. EAC members must take an active role in this process. EAC members represent the point of view of fellow exhibitors. Exhibitors are encouraged to express their viewpoints and concerns through EAC representatives or directly to the NFDA.
On-boarding of new exhibitors is key to the success of the committee. Please ensure you commit some time meeting new exhibitors during the special exhibitor reception held on the convention floor on Monday after exhibit hours.
